My Favorite Anime Movies
Anime movies have always been my favorites. The unique blend of action, humor and serious themes draws me into these anime movies.
For those of you interested in big ass sword fighting action, go watch "Bleach" and "Inuyasha". For those hooked on Ninja action go see "Naruto". For the latest bestseller anime take a look at "Avatar: The Last Airbender". For over the top funny antics, check out the jolly pirates in "One Piece". For huge robots action, you got to watch the "Gundam" and the "Evangelion" movies and series. For the magic-horror genre there's "Hellsing" and "Full Metal Alchemist".

Movie: "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time"
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time scored a big hit in Japan in 2006, and has been eagerly awaited by American otaku. Makoto Konno regards herself as a normal high-school student. She's smart, but not brilliant; a little clumsy, but not a klutz; well-liked, but not a social star.
Something strange has happened to Makoto Konno. Time has suddenly stopped and moved her backwards. With her newly discovered ability to literally leap backwards in time Makoto finds that tests become a piece of cake, embarrassing situations are corrected and she can have her favorite food anytime she wants. Unfortunately her carefree time traveling has adverse effects on the people she cares for. With every successful leap Makoto somehow alters the fate of those around her. This was not supposed to happen and as she races back in time to fix everything, she notices that her abilities are not limitless but with every successful jump she is one step closer to discovering the most wonderful secret in her young adult life.

Movie: "Naruto Shippuden"
The first of three theatrical features, Naruto Shippuden--the Movie (2007) provides a visually striking, action-packed introduction to the second series of adventures of ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki. Sinister ninja use black magic medical jutsu to raise the spirit of the long-imprisoned demon Moryo.
If Moryo's body is also resurrected, he will establish a Thousand Year Kingdom that will mean the end of life on Earth as humans know it. Only Shion, the priestess of the Land of Ogres, can stop Moryo by keeping his body sealed within a hidden temple. A special squad from the Village Hidden in the Leaves--Neji, Sakura, Rock Lee, and Naruto--is assigned to protect Shion on her journey there.

Feeling very much at home in the jungle, Mowgli resists and runs off. Much to Bagheera's dismay, Mowgli meets a new friend with a happy-go-lucky philosophy of life -- Baloo the Bear, a lovable "jungle bum." A secret military project endangers neo-tokyo when it turns a biker gang member into a rampaging psionic psychopath that only two kids and a group of psionics can stop.
Often described as the movie that created a mass audience for Japanese animation in America, Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira (1988) has been eagerly awaited on Blu-Ray. The film has been remastered for 1080p HD, which showcases Otomo's flamboyant palette and the translucent colors he uses for the opulent signage of Neo-Tokyo and the trails left by the thugs' racing motorcycles.
The film probably looks better in Blu-ray than it did in its initial release as dust, dirt and scratches have been digitally removed, and the state-of-the-art sampling and bit rates reveal previously undetectable elements in the complex soundtrack.
